The holiday season in Philadelphia is back again! Historic downtown transforms into a festive winter wonderland as all walks of life gather to enjoy the sights and smells of the season.

Here are a few parking tips to make sure you’re prepared for the biggest Philadelphia holiday events:

1. Reserve Your Parking Online

For any major event in the city, it’s always best to reserve a parking spot ahead of time. This way you have guaranteed access to the garage, regardless of how busy traffic is the day of. Not to mention, you have unlimited in & out privileges during your reservation time.

Christmas Village at LOVE Park

Dates: November 22nd – December 24th

Modeled after the traditional German Christmas market, Christmas Village in Center City Philadelphia enchants LOVE park yet again. Winter at Dilworth Park

Date: 11/9 – 2/24/19

This spacious public park transforms to a beautiful winter wonderland for the entirety of November through February! Visitors of all likes come to shop at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, skate at the Rothman Ice Rink, and warm up with loved ones with a seasonal beverage at the Rothman Cabin. Don’t miss the breathtaking Deck the Hall Light Show that illuminates the West side of City Hall every evening.

We have plenty of garages that accommodate this event, but your best bets are going to be our LOVE Park and Juniper & Locust locations.

A Very Philadelphia Holiday at One Liberty Observation Deck

Dates: November 21st – January 1st, 2019

View the dazzling lights of Miracle on South 13th Street along with a trip back in time to learn the historic background of the Nutcracker Ballet and the Mummer’s Parade all in one breathtaking venue! Make your way all the way up to the 57th floor for the best view of the entire city. There are several events in this space for all ages including the Candy Cane Hunt with the Sugar Plum Fairy (December 2nd) as well as Bar 57’s Ugly Sweater Party (December 13th).

2. Plan to Arrive Early

If you plan on visiting these high traffic holiday attractions, give yourself some breathing room! With the mass amount of drivers, many who are unfamiliar with driving in the city, there are sure to be traffic jams closer to peak event hours.

Try your best to reserve a space an hour or so before you normally would just to be on the safe side!

3. Extend Your Reservation

Find you want to stay a little bit longer? That’s no problem at all! With every iParkit reservation, you have the option to edit and extend your reservation.

  • In the main menu tap on “RECEIPTS”
  • Tap on the reservation you would like to edit
  • Scroll down to “EDIT RESERVATION”
  • Change the end time on your reservation
  • Make your changes to the time and or date
  • Your new rate will display before you proceed to extend your reservation, so you’re well aware of what the additional charge will be.
  • This will update your current reservation to reflect the new end time.

If your reservation hasn’t started yet, you can still extend it ahead of time. If you do so, a new reservation and barcode will be created.
